Introduction:
In French, Art abstrait is art that does not recognize any natural form or shape in the world and uses only color and figurative and unnatural forms to express its concepts. This term is usually used in contrast to figurative art and in its broadest sense can be referred to any type of art that does not represent recognizable [objects] and events, but it is generally referred to as a type of modern art creation that turns from any imitation of nature or its simulation to its conventional meaning in European art.
Abstraction is one of the activities of the mind. This means that our mind abstracts some concepts from real concepts that exist outside our minds and in the real world. The concepts that are abstracted in this way do not have any external meaning. For example, the concept of man is an abstract concept that the mind has abstracted from putting together the commonalities of individual people, each of whom exists in the real world and outside our minds.
According to this definition, non-realistic art is distinguished from realistic art. All styles of painting in which form and shape evoke a reality outside the mind fall under the category of realistic art.
Abstract art is non-realistic. Abstract art has no boundaries and is not bound by specific principles and rules.
Realism, Cubism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and many painting styles in which form maintains its connection to reality (even if this connection is very weak) are considered sub-branches of realistic art.
Where this connection is completely severed, non-realistic or abstract art begins.
At the beginning of the 20th century, this term was mostly used for art schools such as Cubism and Futurism, because in these schools, nature was expressed in simple or exaggerated forms only as an idea of the main natural subject. In paintings of these styles, the goal was generally to record and narrate the truth of objects, not necessarily their appearance.
According to modern art historians, Wassily Kandinsky is the first painter who presented the first completely abstract painting around 1910, and since then, modern abstract art has appeared in many different art movements and schools. From the very beginning, the city of Moscow, Russian icons and the folk art of that land, strongly influenced Kandinsky. And they associated him with the avant-garde Russian artists. Later, in the landscapes he painted under the title of Improvisation. He distanced himself very much from nature.
In his absolute abstraction he came to the conclusion that if the pure harmonies of a picture are free from concrete or metaphorical forms, they become as inspiring as the pure sounds of music. The artist freely follows his spiritual impulses and is even free to ignore natural forms altogether and surrender himself to the expressive power of colored forms. His only law is inner necessity.
Conclusion:
Abstraction is one of the activities of the mind. This means that our mind abstracts some concepts from real concepts that exist outside our mind and in the real world. The concepts that are abstracted in this way do not have any external counterpart. For example, the concept of human is an abstract concept that the mind has abstracted from putting together the commonalities of individual people, each of whom exists in the real world and outside our mind.
